All other executive committee positions were filled, however with no nominations for the position of president prior to the AGM and no nominations from the floor on the night, a decision was made to close the meeting without the role being filled.

Kelly Cousins from CPM Landscaping was elected vice-president, Matt Bergman of Kerry Bergman Photography is secretary and Wayne Rabnott from Logan Office of Economic Development is treasurer.

Dannielle Arici, Peter Cross, Jane Mitchell, Liz Redmond, Matt Reeves and Bob Wiley were elected as general committee members.

The new committee plans tomeet on August 11 to discuss filling the president’s position as well as plans for the chamber over the next 12 months.

The position of president remained vacant after Laurie Koranski, who had held the position for two years, announced she would notre-contestfor the role.

In delivering her outgoing president’s report, Ms Koranski paid tribute to those she had worked with through the chamber over the past two years but said the time had come for her to step aside.

“I’m retiring from the committee of the Logan Country Chamber of Commerce at this AGM, primarily because I am tired. I am not alone. Of the 12 members elected at the last AGM, I understand few of them will be returning to the committee this year,” she said.

Ms Koranski said the outgoing committee had left solid foundations on which the new committee could build.

“Over the past two years, the chamber has fed into the prosperity of the Logan Country community. We enjoy a healthy cash-flow and a reputation for delivering successful events with flair and panache, on budget and on time,” she said.

“In moving forward, I believe it is critical for the incoming chamber committee to be united with a common purpose, to embrace big picture thinking and to actively engage with community partners, to leverage opportunities for Logan Country.”
