A workshop has been specially designed by the Country Fire Service (CFS)for rural women to learn how to protect your family and livelihood from bushfire.
The workshop covers both information and practical sessions in a fun and friendly environment over two days.
Participants can learn about:
*How to prepare emotionally for a bushfire.
*Understanding the new Fire Danger Ratings and warnings.
*Deciding when to leave early or stay and defend.
*Preparing a Bushfire Survival Plan.
*Identifying hazards around the home.
*Operating pumps and fire fighting equipment.
The workshop will be held at the Barossa Council Chambers, 43-51 Tanunda Road, Nuriootpa.
Day one: Sunday, August 24
Day two: Sunday, August 31
8.30am to 3.30pm each day.
